Feeling the need to communicate with God and to sing praises, a dozen or so people met on the beach on a Sunday evening in 1910 after the train had departed. This was the beginning of the church in Beach Haven Terrace. |

Burned to the ground in 1932, the church was rebuilt in the height of the Great Depression of 1932-1933. |

Two Methodist Churches are situated on Long Beach Island, New Jersey: Terrace First United located in the heart of Beach Haven Terrace; and Kynett United, in the heart of Beach Haven. The Rev. Diane Ruth Gilbert is pastor of both churches. |
