Feeling the need to communicate with God and to sing praises, a dozen or so people met on the beach on a Sunday evening in 1910 after the train had departed. This was the beginning of the church in Beach Haven Terrace.

Mission: “Make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”

 

“Where strangers become friends, and friends become family.”

Serving Methodism for over 121 years

Burned to the ground in 1932, the church was rebuilt in the height of the Great Depression of 1932-1933.

Mission: Develop and nurture a church family that will minister to the needs of the people through the words and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Two Methodist Churches are situated on Long Beach Island, New Jersey:

 Terrace First United located in the heart of Beach Haven Terrace;

and Kynett United, in the heart of Beach Haven.

Text Box: Save the dates: Saturday, April 14th—Annual Fried Oyster/Chicken Salad Dinner at Kynett— Take-out's 4:00 p.m.; In house dining, 5-7:00 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the door. $15.00 Includes entrée, baked potato, mixed vegetables, beverage, roll, and homemade desserts. Friday, May 4th— Annual Mother and Daughter Banquet held at the Terrace Church— $15.00 — tickets ahead of time. Saturday, June 16th Annual Flee Market and Food Court 8:00 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. at the Terrace Church. Friday, July 20th— 5:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. Annual Fish Dinner at the Terrace Church— $15.00 for batter dipped cold water cod fish. Saturday, October 6th— Annual Roast Pork Dinner at the Terrace Church— 4:30 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. Roast pork and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, gravy, string beans, rolls, applesauce, homemade desserts, beverage. $15.00 and $5.00 for child.
